Many endodontic treatments are supported by state-of-the art technology such as digital imaging, operating microscopes, and ultrasonic instruments, all of which allow dentists to treat their patients comfortably and efficiently. Nowadays, having a root canal done is usually no more stressful or uncomfortable than receiving a filling.
If you have a damaged tooth, it can usually be saved with endodontic treatment.
- Root canal treatment: During this common procedure, infected pulp is removed from the tooth. After the now-empty tooth is cleaned and disinfected, it is filled and sealed with gutta-percha, and later restored with a crown or filling.
- Endodontic retreatment: Occasionally a tooth may not heal properly after a procedure. During retreatment, the tooth is opened and old fillings taken out. The dentist then removes any infection, cleans the canals, and applies new filling materials. A temporary filling protects the tooth until it heals, at which point a new crown or other form of restoration is placed on it.
- Endodontic surgery: Sometimes surgery is necessary to remove calcium build-ups in root canals, treat damaged roots, or locate hidden canals or tiny fractures that were previously undetected.
Our endodontic procedures also treat traumatic dental injuries such as chipped, dislodged, or knocked-out teeth. Our dentists have the training, experience, and treatment technologies to save injured teeth and restore them to a healthy condition.
During your consultation, your dentist will inspect the tooth that requires treatment, take x-rays, and provide you with a list of both options and costs. When you are ready to proceed, the treatment will be scheduled and carried out according to your personal needs. We will make your health and well-being a priority from the start of your consultation to the completion of your aftercare.
